I am becoming increasingly moved by the life and legacy of John Kennedy, especially after Dallek’s biography and watching the film ‘JFK’. There is something deeply poetic and moving in this man that calls for further exploration. The meaning lies not just in the man himself, but in what he represents to us and in what his death represented. The possibility of a cover-up or conspiracy regarding his death cannot be ignored. I am now very wary of not becoming one of the mindless conformists that Stone frequently mentions in his commentary during the film–which was extraordinary. What does this all mean for me? Why does it interest me so much? Then again, why shouldn’t it? I am an American and a young man who cares about the times in which he lives and the people who live in it with him. I would expect that to be the case for everybody regardless of what they wanted in a career.
